About the job and about you

Over the last few years the profile of the Alliance has developed significantly, and with it our ability to influence policies affecting people with neurological conditions. We have a significant reputation within government and with senior policy makers in NHS England and Public Health England for our understanding of the services required by people affected by neurological conditions, their carers and families, and the climate in which these services are being, and will be, delivered.

You will raise the profile of the issues faced by those with neurological conditions further and leading the Alliance through the next exciting chapter in its evolution.

Reporting to the board of trustees, the Chief Executive will be central to an expanding network of relationships within and outside the organisation. You will work to maximise our impact resulting in improved service provision and outcomes. As such, you will have a demonstrable track record of successfully engaging a wide range of stakeholders and, critically, practical experience of the current commissioning environment, use of health data and campaigning for change.

You will also have excellent management skills who will have the ability to lead the team, be able to work effectively with a strong and supportive board of trustees. Previous experience of operating at senior management level within the voluntary sector, experience of income generation and a strategic understanding of fundraising is desirable.
