Prioritising neurology in the Care Quality Commission Special Review

As the Alliance manifesto has been calling for, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) is now considering a special review of neurology services. This has been included as one of 13 topics for consideration in their consultation, Assessment of Quality in 2010/11, published Feb 2010. A special review by the regulator will ensure service providers and commissioners take a closer look at their neurology services. We believe a detailed examination of the quality and efficiency is well overdue.

The Alliance has worked with major stakeholders to respond to the consultation and ensure that the neurology is prioritised in the CQC future work programme. Many members of the Neurological Alliance and people affected by a neurological conditions have responded to the CQC consultation. If you have responded to the consultation and have nt done so yet, please share your responses with us!.
