Set Up A Regional Alliance

Why set up a regional alliance?

Have you ever walked away from an appointment feeling dissatisfied?

Have you ever felt that there was a way in which a service could have operated more effectively?

Are you concerned about the lack of money being put into neurological services locally? About the lack of beds? Or the absence of neurologists?

You can help to change this in your area.

Regional alliances bring together users and carers to voice their concerns. They get their issues onto the agendas of people in charge of commissioning services, MPs, Directors of Primary Care Trusts and of Strategic Health Authorities.

Regional alliances speak up for local people with neurological conditions at meetings, steering groups and consultations. They influence the choices taken about neurological services locally.

How can we help?

We have a guidance pack that contains all kinds of useful tips and advice for getting off the ground.

We have a draft constitution which you can adapt so that you can apply to become a registered charity, which will help you to fundraise to cover your running costs.

We have a compact which outlines the arrangement that we have with our affiliate members, should you wish to join the Alliance.

We have contacts with a wealth of experience – they’ve already set up their own alliances and will happily share their advice.

And, if you would like us to, we’ll attend your first meeting for support.

It’s all free. All you have to do is ask.

Email: info@neural.org.uk. Or call Emma Ward, Communications Officer on 0207 463 2074.
