Care Quality Commission considering a Special Review of Neurological Services
On 2 February, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) announced that it is considering a special review of neurology services. This has been included as one of 13 topics for consideration in their consultation, Assessment of Quality in 2010/11 .
A special review by the regulator will give a powerful signal to service providers and commissioners that they need to take a closer look at their neurology services. A detailed examination of the quality and efficiency is well overdue. The Alliance will be asking members to respond to the consultation and ensure that the neurology is prioritised in the CQC future work programme.
