MS Society launches 2010 Manifesto
On 15 February, the MS Society launched its 2010 Manifesto in a serious and high profile attempt to encourage the next Government to act upon MS inequalities.
The document sets 10 powerful calls for the next Government to act upon. Collectively the calls outline the major inequalities in access to drugs, treatments and support that people with MS often need to live independently and live life to the full.
All people affected by MS and supporters of the MS Society are encouraged to join the campaign, which focuses on individuals signing an e-petition and lobbying their local MP or prospective party candidate for support.
Examples of existing inequalities – like inadequate waiting times for an electric wheelchair – are outlined, as well as inequalities that have been overcome – like successful campaigns for access to NICE approved drugs and treatments.
The MS Society Manifesto is the main focus for this year’s MS Week (26 April – 2 May) and people affected by MS from across the UK are encouraged to get involved.
