NICE publishes updated guide

On 16 August, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) published an updated guide to the technology appraisal appeal process.

The updated process guide focuses on the technology appraisal appeal process and provides an overview for the organisations wishing to lodge an appeal.

New elements introduced in the updated guide include:

• The written appeal process
• The process for rejected appeals and multiple appeals against a Final Appraisal Determination
• Incorporating new arrangements within technology appraisals such as the patient access schemes and flexible pricing, which impacts the appeal process
• Publication of guidance post appeal
