The Neurological Alliance is proud to confirm that Cath Stanley, Chair, and Chief Executive of the Huntington’s Disease Association,  has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025 for her services to people affected by Huntington’s disease.

The BEM is a significant accolade, awarded for distinguished service to local communities, charities, or public life. Cath’s name features among a select group recognised for their selfless efforts this year.

“Stronger Together”

“We are stronger together, and this recognition highlights not just my work, but the shared efforts of everyone living with, caring for, and researching Huntington’s disease,” said Cath Stanley BEM. “I am honoured and proud to accept this medal on behalf of our community. It inspires me to continue striving for better care, greater visibility, and real progress for families everywhere.”

Please join us in congratulating Cath on this incredibly well-deserved honour, and in celebrating the vital work being done to improve the lives of everyone affected by neurological conditions.
