Suzanne Dobson, Chief Executive of Tourette’s Action and former Chair of the Neurological Alliance

22/07/2021

It is with great sadness to let you know that our former Chair and Chief Executive of Tourette’s Action, Suzanne Dobson, passed away yesterday after a short illness. Our thoughts are very much with her friends and family, who she loved so dearly.

Suzanne was Chair of the Alliance from 2016 – 2020, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the role, and enabling the organisation to go from strength to strength.

David Martin, Chair of the Neurological Alliance said:

“Suzanne was passionate about ensuring all of our members, regardless of size or scale, were listened to and represented at all levels of Government. Suzanne has had a hugely positive impact on the Alliance, serving as an effective Chair and supporting the organisation to grow during her time in the role. I am indebted to her for the support she has provided as Georgina and I moved into our new roles. We will miss her very much.”

Georgina Carr, Chief Executive, said:

“Suzanne has been a source of great strength and tenacity for the Alliance and Tourette’s Action. A kind, thoughtful and committed friend and colleague, she oversaw a great deal of growth during her time with us as Chair. So much of the work she helped to steer will continue to have a positive influence for many many years to come. On a more personal note, she was hugely welcoming and supportive as I came into this role at the Alliance, and I will miss her a lot.”
